Work to Develop Community Safety Plans:
- Partner with the government of Yukon, Yukon First Nations, law enforcement, first responders, MLAs, community associations and local organizations to create comprehensive actionable community safety plans.
- Address crime prevention through environmental design.
- Engage community members in safety discussions to address their specific concerns.
- Implement neighbourhood watch programs and community policing initiatives.
Work to Improve Public Spaces:
- Upgrade and beautify parks, green spaces, and community gardens.
- Ensure accessibility for people with disabilities by improving pathways and adding inclusive play areas.
- Encourage the use of public spaces through events, markets, and cultural activities.
Facilitating Community Engagements:
- Organize town hall meetings, focus groups, and public forums to gather input on community needs.
- Use digital platforms like social media, surveys, and websites to increase engagement and gather feedback.
- Establish citizen advisory committees or working groups to collaborate on key issues.
- Ensure diverse representation by reaching out to underrepresented groups.
